On July 3rd, we are kicking off a new monthly tradition: a curated First Friday clothing theme featuring inventory we’ve specifically sourced for you. Over the past few years, we’ve learned that your favorite events at Consign Couture are those that show fabulous inventory, but also tell a story and offer the chance to get the first look at a collection. This July will feature this year’s French Night with some of our favorite designers, French cocktails, and some light bites.

Chloé and Saint Laurent are my two favorite French brands… They both understand that luxury doesn’t have to be logo driven and loud.
Chloé was actually created to be sold in department stores, radical for its time. Gaby Aghion, who founded the brand along with her husband, wanted women to feel effortlessly elegant in their everyday lives, not just on special occasions. Beautiful French-feeling construction, amazing tailoring, pieces that are easy to wear everyday.
Yves Saint Laurent believed in the power of craftsmanship so deeply that he hand-selected every seamstress in his atelier. He treated dressmaking like an art, which it is. His collections were deeply personal, often inspired by paintings, architecture, and the women around him.
A huge shout out to Summer Hughes, our photographer, who captured all of these French-inspired updates for our website. We did these at TENDUE and love that space so much. The owner has poured so much creativity into the space. It got me dreaming of having French dinner party there, sharing our favorite French travel stories and dressing up for the theme.
