We’ve been working with Megan as a customer, consignor and stylist since the early days of the pandemic, and she has always been part of that small group of people who showed up for us when it was literally just me doing IG Lives with no customers in the store. Just me and Miso!
All these years later we’ve stayed connected, talking about creative ideas and what we both want to build. I’ve been trying to figure out how to take this passion project and turn it into something bigger and more developed, and I knew she would be the person to help make that happen. What sealed it for me was visiting her pool this summer and seeing the huge Sprinter van she loves to drive with her husband. When she told me she prefers to drive it, I said, I have an idea.
I’m so happy to share that Megan will be our new partner in Portland Shopping Tours. The tours will still focus on resale, consignment and vintage, but we also want to include more of the amazing local shops that make Portland what it is. Our first co hosted tour together is on December 14 and you can grab a ticket now right here.
In 2026 we will run monthly tours and roll out even more fun collaborations. Megan also offers small private shopping tours if you want something special for a bachelorette, birthday or other occasion.
She has a huge heart for small businesses and she is such a natural fit for this new role. We are excited to offer more styling support again since we have not been able to keep up with that part of the business while juggling all the incredible consignment you bring us. We are thrilled to have her join us in a bigger way at Consign Couture and help us grow Portland Shopping Tours with the same love we have for the resale community.

Get To Know Megan

What is your name and what do you do?
My name is Megan Lems, and I’m what I like to call a Life Stylist. Through Analee Styling, I help people define their personal image and curate wardrobes that reflect who they truly are. But for me, styling goes far beyond clothes.
I look at the bigger picture…the person behind the outfit. My work is rooted in connection: understanding my clients’ lifestyle, goals, and challenges, and helping them express confidence and authenticity through what they wear. Style is simply the medium; the real transformation happens within.
Creativity runs through everything I do. Whether I’m styling a client, hosting an
event, or designing a beautiful space, I find inspiration in the details and in
creating experiences that make people feel seen and inspired. My husband and I
also run a successful Swimply and Peerspace business, renting our pool oasis
and parts of our home for photo shoots, celebrations, and gatherings. Hosting
has become an extension of my creative world. A way to bring people together,
share beauty, and build community in every sense.
Check us out on either platform! We’d love to welcome you.

What drew you to your field, and what makes your approach different from others?
I’ve loved fashion for as long as I can remember. The first episode of What Not to Wear completely hooked me, and from that point on I knew style was something I wanted to be part of. My years in the modeling industry also shaped how I see fashion—and people. After stepping away from that world, I felt drawn to work in a space that celebrated body positivity and individuality.
In modeling, it was nearly impossible to feel comfortable in my own skin. The pressure to fit into one specific standard was so unrealistic that it left me wanting to create something entirely different. Now, through styling, I focus on helping others feel confident and connected to themselves, no matter their size or shape. It’s not about the number on a scale—it’s about self-love, confidence, and wearing what makes you feel like your best self.

Share a milestone that you are proud of.
After spending 21 years in the medical field, I reached a point where I felt disconnected from the impact of my work. I’ve always had a heart for people, and helping others is what fuels me but I wanted to connect in a more personal, creative way.
In 2018, I started Analee Styling as that outlet, blending human connection with fashion and self-expression. When COVID hit, I was pulled back into the medical world, and like so many others, I gave everything I had. After years of long days and constant strain, I burned out. That experience made it clear that it was time to return to what truly filled me up.
Reigniting Analee Styling has been my proudest milestone. Styling, for me, is more than clothes… it’s about confidence, authenticity, and helping people see themselves clearly again. The tools have changed, but the purpose hasn’t. I still get to help people heal, just in a different way. It all starts inside.
I do have a “wild” business story that I’m also pretty proud of. A few years ago my best friend was going to walk in the Savage X Fenti runway show but she found out at the very last minute and needed help with her red carpet look. She happened to be in Portland at the time and asked me if I knew any designers. I thought about a few that would be fun to tap into. I knew it needed to be a statement piece, something edgy but also, I was looking for something sustainable. I contacted Oscar Mendoza who was in the Portland area but ended up moving to Canada. Despite the distance, he was down to help us up. We looked through a few of the available options and I fell in love with this jacket that he made from 100% recycled materials. It was a zero waste ensemble including the threading. It was edgy and Shaholly looked FIERCE in it. He literally sent the garment overnight so that she could take it to LA with her the very next day. It was the most chaotic 48 hours of my life but it was so worth it!. She looked great and was featured in People as one of the top red carpet looks that night. It was a huge success for all of us!
Oscar has moved on to Paris, France to chase his passion and it looks like he’s doing very well. Give him a follow! You’ll love his designs.

Shaholly is equally killing it! She pioneered the modeling industry and made a statement for differently abled bodies. Paving the way for inclusivity and that different is beautiful. She’s amazing! She and I have been friends since middle school and are always cheering each other on.

What inspires you? Where do you go for inspiration?
So many things inspire me but honestly, kindness tops the list. Seeing it in others constantly reminds me how something so simple can completely change someone’s day. We don’t see enough of that anymore, and it’s something I try to embody in every part of my life.
Travel is another big source of inspiration. My husband travels often for work, and when I can, I love to tag along, especially to places I’ve never been. I spend my time exploring the city, finding local boutiques and thrift shops, and seeing how fashion translates outside our PNW bubble. Art museums are another favorite stop. They’re peaceful, visually rich, and always spark new creative ideas.

And then, there’s my husband. He inspires me daily. He moved from the Netherlands to the U.S. about ten years ago to start a renewable energy company and has built it into something remarkable. He leads with purpose and genuine care. The kind of CEO who takes time to walk around the office and connect with everyone. He also pushes and encourages me in the ways that truly speak to me, supporting every wild, creative idea I come up with. His passion for sustainability and his authenticity as a human being continue to inspire me more than he probably knows.
***Completely off topic but fun fact about Robert and I; We have had 3 weddings. We got married at the courthouse in August of 2019. Fast forward 2 months we did an elopement to Las Vegas where “Elvis” married us in a little white chapel (the live stream is pure comedy). This was also where we had our friends and family tune in to learn about our nuptials. It was a secret and we were grateful we got family from both sides of the ocean to watch. The 3rd wedding had to wait until after COVID calmed down a bit but we decided to have a destination wedding on Bonaire. A Dutch island which was important to Robert. Each wedding was so special and uniquely us. To this day he keeps asking me to marry him. At the end of our ceremony in Bonaire, we walked down to the pier and jumped into the Caribbean. Full wedding attire! It was so much fun. The people at the resort were talking about it for weeks.
Tell us your favorite secondhand story as a shopper or seller. If you do not shop secondhand, share a pre-loved item that is meaningful to you.
I’ve done a lot of secondhand shopping and it’s always felt like treasure hunting. You never quite know what you’ll uncover. Years ago, at a small thrift store in Aloha, Oregon, I spotted a black patent leather Ferragamo bag and thought I’d struck gold. It was in beautiful condition, an unbelievable bargain, and to this day I bring it out for special occasions.
Finding that piece was more than just a lucky find, it completely changed how I saw fashion. I realized luxury doesn’t have to mean brand-new. There are so many quality, pre-loved pieces out there waiting to be discovered. That bag reminded me that great style isn’t about price tags; it’s about appreciation, creativity, and the stories behind what we wear.
Name someone or a company you admire and why.
I used to work closely with several LVMH brands and became absolutely obsessed with Veuve Clicquot. The story of Madame Clicquot building a wildly successful champagne house in the 1700s completely blew my mind. Her innovation, her strategy, her sheer audacity for that era. Fun fact: she invented the riddling system still used in champagne production today.
She was a true pioneer. And beyond the history, Veuve remains my favorite champagne.Unmatched, in my opinion, and I’ll happily die on that hill. Honestly, I have enough random Veuve trivia to fill an entire evening… maybe I should do an outfit inspired by it someday. Yellow isn’t my color, but for Veuve, I’d make an exception.
And yes, it’s Veuve Yellow. Cheers!

What is something you learned recently?
Lately, I’ve been learning how important it is to protect my peace bubble and how powerful that truly is. For me, that means not making space for anything or anyone that drains my energy. I’ve become much more intentional about how I spend my time and who I share it with.
I’ve realized that the small circle of friends and family in my life is exactly what I need. We share values, encourage growth, and genuinely enjoy each other’s company. Those relationships are beautifully symbiotic, rooted in love, support, and mutual respect.
Now, that doesn’t mean I don’t welcome new people into my life. In fact, I absolutely do. Protecting my peace and my space simply means I have more to give, more energy, more creativity, and more kindness to share in all the ways that matter.

What does “thoughtful consumption” mean to you?
My mom taught me the value of secondhand long before I ever thought it was cool. She used to take me thrift shopping, and I’ll admit, I didn’t appreciate it at the time. I just wanted new clothes for the school year, not hand-me-downs from a rack. But she was teaching me something deeper: the value of quality, creativity, and resourcefulness.
It wasn’t until I moved out on my own that it clicked. I realized how far a dollar could stretch and how many incredible treasures were waiting to be found secondhand. Over the years, I’ve discovered everything from timeless wardrobe staples to one-of-a-kind pieces that tell their own stories.
My treasure hunting doesn’t stop with clothing. I use the same approach when it comes to furniture and décor, finding character-filled pieces with history and charm. Honestly, it’s rare for my husband and me to buy anything brand new. There are exceptions, of course, but we’re both deeply sustainability-minded and love the satisfaction of giving something pre-loved a new life.
When it comes to fashion, I shop secondhand whenever possible. There’s something meaningful about choosing pieces that already have a story, rather than feeding into fast fashion. To me, thoughtful consumption is about awareness, appreciation, and choosing quality in what we buy and in how we live.
You are making a Portland must-see list. What is on it?
Portland is full of incredible must-sees. I’ve always said that spring and summer here are pure magic. When the cherry blossoms bloom, it feels like pink cotton candy floating through the air. Absolutely dreamy. A walk along the east side during sunset is just as special; the view of the city from there is my favorite.
Portland’s restaurant scene is endless, but I’m a simple girl at heart. I love a good smoothie. My top pick is Kure, and the Extra Mile smoothie is my forever favorite. I swear, I’d drink it every day if I lived closer to one.
And of course, for shopping, I always recommend SE Division and Hawthorne. They’re absolute gold mines for unique finds, local boutiques, and vintage treasures, all within a wonderfully walkable stretch that perfectly captures Portland’s creative spirit.

Tell us about your favorite outfit. What makes you feel most like you?
I absolutely love to dress up. Any excuse to go all out is my kind of fun, especially if there’s a theme involved. Fashion is such a powerful form of expression; it’s how I celebrate life’s moments.
One of my favorite outfits has to be from my 40th birthday. I actually had two looks that night. The first was a beaded cocktail dress. Technically a wedding dress I’d won at a bridal show. I figured, it’s my 40th, I can wear a wedding dress if I want to! Later, I changed into a purple fringe skirt with a mesh beaded top for dancing. The theme was “dress to impress,” and seeing all my friends and family show up in their best looks felt like a dream come true.
How do you spend your free time?
I live a pretty active lifestyle. When I’m not in style mode, I’m usually doing something that keeps me moving. I’ve played volleyball since I was 13 and still love the game just as much today. It’s actually how I met my husband, Robert. We met at an open volleyball night in Tualatin, became friends, and the rest just fell into place. He’s a wonderful human, and any time we get to spend together is time well spent. I’m endlessly grateful he chose me AND that he lets me dress him.
I’m also an artist, and whenever I get the chance, I sneak away to my home studio to create. My work is mostly abstract and always evolving. It’s another way for me to express myself and stay inspired. You can see some of my pieces on Instagram at @Lems_Art_Studio.
In general, I like to fill my free time with little glimmers of joy. Things that keep me moving, creating, and connecting to the people I love.
Three picks: the best thing you read, the best thing you watched or listened to, and the best thing you ate lately.
I’ll admit it, I’m not great at making time to read, even though I have a small stack of books waiting for me. A few on my list are The Let Them Theory, To Lead With Care, and an anti-inflammatory cookbook. A little random, but all things I want to feed my mind with eventually.
As for listening, my Spotify DJ usually runs the show. It’s a mix of ODESZA and other upbeat tracks that keep my energy high.
I’ve also been into a podcast called SmartLess. If you like comedy and unexpected celebrity guests, it’s such a fun listen. They keep things light and genuinely funny.
And favorite thing I’ve eaten? That’s a tough one. I don’t get overly excited about food, but I recently experimented with a squash and sweet potato soup and was honestly impressed with myself. Turns out, I can cook sometimes. Who knew?

Bonus: shout out a few small, local businesses you love?
Supporting small, local businesses is really important to me. Portland has such a creative, close-knit community, and I love discovering the people and stories behind the shops.
Consign Couture absolutely deserves a special mention, not just because they’re hosting this feature, but because I’ve genuinely loved their store for years. Even during COVID, I found myself tuning into their live sales and getting excited over every drop. Their eye for quality, sustainability, and style is unmatched, and I always walk out with something special for myself (and sometimes my husband too).
I also love Adorn for contemporary pieces and fun finds. They have such a great mix of designers and local brands. And Artifact is another favorite, filled with clothing, décor, and vintage furniture. I’ve found so many unique treasures there, each with a story of its own.
